Transferring technologies from particle physics to the health sector is a multidisciplinary venture. It is important that the wide scientific community and the general public are aware of the complexity and challenges in this task. 2014 marked 60 years since the first patient was treated with protons. The "Accelerating innovation...in Medicine" public seminar series was set up to celebrate this achievement and raise public awareness.
